AstraZeneca Adopts Be8 BeVant® for Generators and Fire Pump Systems

by Erasmo Carlos Battistella

For years, I have advocated that the energy transition must be practical, scalable, and economically viable. That is exactly what we are delivering with Be8 BeVant®. A recent example of this transformation is our partnership with AstraZeneca Brazil, which has begun using our biofuel to power six emergency generators and the fire pump system at its manufacturing facility in Cotia, São Paulo. This initiative demonstrates that companies committed to ambitious environmental goals can reduce their emissions immediately by adopting solutions that are already commercially available.

Be8 BeVant® is being used as a complete replacement for fossil diesel in these systems. The result is a reduction of more than 99% in greenhouse gas emissions associated with conventional fuel. Most importantly, this transition requires no modifications to the existing infrastructure or to the equipment’s diesel engines, allowing for rapid, safe, and seamless implementation. This was one of the key objectives that inspired us to develop Be8 BeVant®: to provide the market with a technically robust, competitive solution capable of accelerating organizations’ decarbonization commitments.

Our partnership with AstraZeneca also reflects a broader shift taking place across multiple industries. More and more companies recognize that sustainability and operational efficiency are not competing priorities. On the contrary, they must advance together. AstraZeneca has a strong global commitment to ESG principles and to reducing emissions throughout its operations. Seeing a company of this scale adopt Be8 BeVant® is further evidence that advanced biofuels have a strategic role to play in building a low-carbon economy.

Today, Be8 BeVant® has already been validated by leading organizations and is supplied to more than 40 companies across a wide range of industries. Produced at our headquarters in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, the fuel is manufactured with scalable production capacity to serve both the Brazilian market and international opportunities. I believe initiatives like this demonstrate that the energy transition is no longer a vision for the future. It is already taking place today, inside factories, logistics hubs, airports, power generation systems, and other critical operations that keep the economy moving. And the more companies embrace proven, market-ready solutions, the faster we will move toward a cleaner, more competitive, and more sustainable energy future.
