The energy transition becomes even more meaningful when it reaches the essential operations that keep organizations running. With this vision in mind, Be8 and Banco do Brasil signed a Memorandum of Understanding during COP30 to evaluate the replacement of the institution’s mineral diesel with Be8 BeVant® in its backup power generators. This initiative represents an important step toward developing practical solutions for decarbonizing mission-critical operations that require the highest levels of reliability and availability. More than an agreement between two organizations, it demonstrates how leading institutions can work together to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy solutions in Brazil.
Following the signing of the memorandum, teams from Be8 and Banco do Brasil began conducting comprehensive technical, operational, financial, legal, and regulatory feasibility studies. These assessments will take into account the wide range of generator brands and models installed across the bank’s nationwide operations, ensuring a thorough evaluation of the biofuel’s application. The objective is to guarantee a safe, efficient, and fully compatible transition while leveraging the existing infrastructure, reinforcing both organizations’ commitment to responsible innovation and sustainable development.
Banco do Brasil’s interest in solutions such as Be8 BeVant® reflects the growing momentum of the decarbonization agenda across multiple sectors of the economy. Our biofuel was specifically developed to enable immediate emissions reductions without requiring the replacement of equipment already in operation. With the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 99% compared with conventional fossil diesel, while also significantly lowering particulate matter, black smoke, and carbon monoxide emissions, Be8 BeVant® offers a practical solution for organizations seeking to accelerate their environmental commitments without compromising operational performance.
I have long believed that the energy transition must be driven by concrete actions and measurable results. That is precisely why I consider this partnership so significant. Banco do Brasil is internationally recognized as a leader in sustainability within the financial sector, and its decision to evaluate the use of Be8 BeVant® further reinforces the credibility of the renewable solutions developed by Be8. I am convinced that initiatives like this demonstrate that the future of decarbonization does not depend solely on technologies yet to be invented. It is already being built today by organizations that have chosen to transform climate commitments into meaningful actions capable of generating real impact for society.
