Our Expansion into Alto Araguaia Reinforces Our Commitment to the Future of Biofuels

by Erasmo Carlos Battistella

The energy transition requires long-term vision, strong execution capabilities, and consistent investment. With this mindset, Be8 has taken another important step in its growth journey by officially assuming operations at the Alto Araguaia biodiesel plant in the state of Mato Grosso. The addition of this facility represents far more than an increase in our production capacity. It strengthens Be8’s presence in one of Brazil’s most strategic agribusiness regions. With this acquisition, we now operate six biodiesel plants across the country, consolidating a nationwide production platform that is well positioned to meet the growing demand for renewable fuels.

The Alto Araguaia facility has an annual production capacity of approximately 245 million liters of biodiesel, increasing Be8’s total installed capacity to around 1.71 billion liters per year. This milestone further strengthens our position as one of Brazil’s leading renewable energy companies while enabling us to expand our presence in a market that plays an increasingly important role in the country’s energy security and decarbonization efforts. The plant’s strategic location also delivers significant logistical advantages, bringing our operations closer to major agricultural production hubs and key fuel consumption markets.

More than simply expanding our production capacity, this investment reinforces our strategy for sustainable growth. Mato Grosso is one of the world’s largest agricultural producers and plays a vital role in the supply chain for renewable feedstocks. Strengthening our presence in the region allows us to improve operational efficiency, deepen partnerships with local producers, and contribute directly to job creation, income generation, and regional economic development. I firmly believe that the energy transition depends on leveraging each region’s natural strengths while building increasingly integrated and sustainable value chains.

The addition of our sixth biodiesel plant also marks an important chapter in Be8’s evolution. In recent years, we have expanded beyond biodiesel by investing in advanced fuels, ethanol, carbon capture, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and renewable hydrogen. Even so, we remain convinced that biodiesel will continue to play a fundamental role in building a cleaner and more competitive energy matrix. The Alto Araguaia operation reinforces this vision and demonstrates that Be8 is prepared to lead the next chapter of Brazil’s energy transition.
