Be8 Makes South Summit Brazil 2026 a Showcase for the Energy Transition

by Erasmo Carlos Battistella

I attended another edition of South Summit Brazil with the conviction that the energy transition must be driven by execution, not just discussion. That is why it was especially meaningful to see Be8 BeVant® powering 100% of the generators used throughout the event in Porto Alegre. At one of Latin America’s leading innovation and entrepreneurship gatherings, we were able to demonstrate in practice that technologies capable of dramatically reducing emissions already exist, are commercially available, and can be implemented immediately, without requiring any modifications to existing equipment or infrastructure.

South Summit brought together thousands of participants, including startups, investors, business executives, government officials, and leaders from a wide range of industries. Amid discussions on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, new business models, and sustainability, the use of Be8 BeVant® behind the scenes transformed the event’s own operations into a real-world example of decarbonization. While many participants were discussing pathways toward a more sustainable future, the event itself was already relying on a solution capable of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 99% compared with conventional fossil fuels.

I believe this illustrates one of today’s greatest challenges: turning ambition into action. The energy transition will not be achieved through goals and commitments alone. It requires the adoption of technologies that can be deployed today, delivering measurable environmental benefits without compromising operational performance. That is precisely what we demonstrated during South Summit. Be8 BeVant® provided reliable energy for the event’s entire infrastructure, proving that it is possible to significantly reduce emissions while maintaining performance, safety, and scalability.

Beyond showcasing the practical application of our biofuel, the event also provided an important opportunity to discuss key topics shaping Brazil’s energy future, including industrial decarbonization, advanced biofuels, and renewable hydrogen. I have long maintained that there is no single solution capable of driving the energy transition on its own. Progress depends on the intelligent combination of multiple renewable technologies, supported by innovation, investment, and consistent public policies. What we experienced at South Summit reinforced exactly this vision: the future of energy has already begun, and Brazil is uniquely positioned to lead this global transformation.
