One of the most common questions surrounding renewable fuels is whether they can deliver the same level of performance as fossil fuels under the most demanding operating conditions. That is why I was especially pleased to follow the results of the opening round of the 2026 Be8 BeVant® Copa Truck season. For the first time, every truck in the championship competed exclusively using Be8 BeVant®, and the drivers’ own feedback confirmed something truly significant: sustainability and performance not only go hand in hand, but can actually deliver even better results together.
The results were evident from the very first race weekend, held in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. Driver Leandro Totti secured pole position and won the opening race of the day, noting that his lap time was approximately two seconds faster than the one he recorded the previous year. Other drivers also reported positive experiences. Adalberto Jardim highlighted that the biofuel delivered performance equivalent to conventional diesel, while Bia Figueiredo emphasized the importance of seeing a sustainable solution perform successfully in one of motorsport’s most demanding and competitive environments.
The positive assessments extended well beyond the drivers. Technical teams and engineers involved in the championship observed increased engine power while maintaining the trucks’ competitiveness, all without requiring any mechanical modifications. This reinforces one of Be8 BeVant®’s key advantages: its ability to be used directly in existing diesel engines, enabling greenhouse gas emissions to be reduced by up to 99% without affecting operational performance. Copa Truck serves as a true high-performance testing laboratory, validating technologies that can later be applied to commercial trucks, buses, agricultural machinery, power generators, and a wide range of heavy-duty transport operations.
What we witnessed on the racetrack represents far more than a sporting achievement. It is tangible proof that decarbonizing transportation does not depend on distant technologies or solutions that have yet to be developed. The solution already exists, and it is available today. When a renewable fuel can deliver outstanding performance, reliability, and environmental benefits in one of Brazil’s most demanding motorsport categories, it sends a powerful message to the entire market: it is possible to accelerate the energy transition without compromising operational efficiency. That is exactly the future we are working to build every day.
