This Monday (22/2) SAE BRASIL (Society of Mobility Engineers) will hold a special meeting that will draw the country’s attention to the many advantages that advanced biofuels offer to the environment and the economy in general . The SAE TALKS “Roda da Propulsão” will be broadcast at 6 pm on SAE’s YouTube channel and will bring together five experts on the subject.
I will be present to talk about the recent contracts signed with Shell and bp for the sale of advanced biofuels from our Omega Green biorefinery project in Paraguay and, mainly, about the renewable aviation fuel (Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene – SPK), also known as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
Also participating in the high-level debate Carolina Grassi, leader of New Business in Latin America at Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials, and researcher at Unicamp; Marcelo Gonçalves, Embraer Product Development engineer; Onofre Andrade, responsible for SAF at Boeing; and Pedro Scorza, commander and technical advisor for GOL’s Renewable Fuels.
The mediation of SAE TALKS Roda da Propulsão will be by engineer Erwin Franieck, mentor of Research, Development and Innovation at SAE BRASIL. Camilo Adas, president of SAE BRASIL, says that Brazil has expertise in developing alternative fuels, such as hybrid electric motors using ethanol and other technologies. According to him, “this is the time for the country to put into practice new options for clean energy and biofuels have significant advantages. Its insertion in the world debate is fundamental for the definition of paths for sustainable mobility ”.
SAE BRASIL is a non-profit association that brings together professionals united by the common mission of disseminating techniques and knowledge, in a large mobility ecosystem. SAE BRASIL was founded in 1991 by executives from the automotive and aerospace segments, aware of the need to open the frontiers of knowledge to Brazilian mobility professionals, in view of the country’s integration into the globalization process of the economy, now in its beginning, in that period.
Since then, SAE BRASIL has experienced extraordinary growth, totaling more than 6 thousand associates and 9 regional sections distributed from the Northeast to the extreme South of Brazil, constituting today the most important mobility engineering society in the Country.
SAE BRASIL is affiliated with SAE International, an association with the same aims and objectives, founded in 1905, in the USA, by leaders with great vision of the automotive industry and of the then nascent aeronautical industry, among which Henry Ford, Orville Wright and Thomas Edison, and has been, over more than a century of existence, one of the main sources of norms, standards and knowledge related to the automotive and aerospace sectors worldwide, with more than 35 thousand generated norms and more than 138 thousand members in about 100 countries.
I count on your presence.
