Sustainable Route COP 30: Be8 and Mercedes-Benz Accelerate Toward Decarbonization

by Erasmo Carlos Battistella

Watching the trucks and buses depart from Passo Fundo this Tuesday (October 21), bound for COP 30, was more than the start of a 4,000 km journey — it marked the beginning of a new chapter in Brazilian mobility. The Sustainable Route COP 30 is a joint initiative between Be8, the country’s largest biodiesel producer, and Mercedes-Benz do Brasil. It connects innovation, science, and sustainability in a groundbreaking nationwide project.

Throughout the journey to Belém (PA), the vehicles will be fueled with B15 Biodiesel and our Be8 BeVant®, monitored and independently audited by the Mauá Institute of Technology — an essential step to ensure the credibility of the field results.

The Institute will guarantee that all measurements and comparisons between Be8 BeVant® biofuel and B15 Diesel are carried out with scientific rigor and complete transparency.

Our goal is to demonstrate in practice the full potential of Be8 BeVant®, which can be used pure — at 100% concentration — reducing up to 99% of tank-to-wheel emissions in the short term, with low investment costs in engine or refueling infrastructure changes. This proves to the world that Brazil is ready to take the lead in the global energy transition.

Be8 BeVant® is the result of innovation, research, and our company’s commitment. It is a Brazilian technology already capable of transforming transportation across multiple modes, as well as logistics and industry.

More than a technical demonstration, this route represents a country that believes in itself and leads the energy transition with real, accessible solutions — delivering immediate decarbonization. Every kilometer traveled reduces dependence on fossil diesel and represents a major step toward a cleaner and fairer future.

The Sustainable Route COP 30 is an invitation to look at Brazil with renewed hope: the future is not distant. Biofuels drive our economy and agribusiness, generate wealth, create jobs, support family farming, and improve the quality of life and health of our population — without cutting down a single tree.

A better world is already on the road across Brazil, powered by biofuel and by the certainty that this is one of the most important paths of the energy transition — a journey we must travel together.
