ANP authorizes production of Be8 BeVant for companies looking to decarbonize in the short term

In an Official Letter dated November 28, 2024, the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) approved the manufacturing supplement presented by Be8 for the production of Be8 BeVant following an inspection conducted at the Passo Fundo unit (RS). This approval allows the new biofuel to definitively occupy the position of being a ready offer to fulfill the mission of decarbonizing the sectors of cargo transport, agribusiness, mining, and public transport in various modes with quality and performance gains, allowing the product to replace 100% fossil diesel.

The main challenge for companies already interested in using this product is to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in their operations in the short term, meeting decarbonization targets. Be8 BeVant is an innovative and high-performance product developed by the company’s Engineering team to be the youngest biofuel to enter the Brazilian clean energy market.

In its testing process, the product has already been validated by companies such as Mahle (supplier of automotive parts), FPT (manufacturer of diesel engines), and Brazil Motorsport (which organizes the São Paulo Grand Prix). Be8 will use the new biofuel 100% in John Deere agricultural machinery at Fazenda Compostela (a venture of Holding ECB Group), in addition to being the official fuel for all diesel machines at its factory in Passo Fundo.

The first supply contracts have already been signed, and after receiving the ANP license, the company started operations with a capacity of 28 million liters/year in the first phase at the unit. Be8 BeVant does not depend on infrastructure investment or engine replacement compared to other technological routes like hydrogen, biomethane, and electric vehicles, and has an immediate impact on the depollution of large urban centers.

“It is ideal for companies that consume large volumes of traditional diesel oil and are committed to reducing their emissions in the short term, especially sectors that heavily use logistics services, such as mining, fleets, as well as the hydro, rail, and maritime sectors, and that want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the short term,” highlighted Leandro Zat, Vice President of Operations at Be8.

We noticed that the market is eager for a short-term solution that can anticipate the benefits of green diesel (HVO, the acronym in English for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) under more competitive commercial conditions. We are signing the first supply contracts, with an estimate to scale production in the short term in Passo Fundo, or expanding to our other unit in Marialva, Paraná.
